First performed shortly after Easter 1742, the Messiah oratorio has enthralled millions with its glorious music and spiritual message. George Frideric Handel composed the music within an astonishing 24 days, with a libretto compiled and arranged by Charles Jennens.

Favorite movements include "And the Glory of the Lord," "For Unto Us a Child Is Born," "Glory to God," and the rousing "Hallelujah Chorus". After finishing the composition of "Hallelujah," Handel reportedly said “I did think I did see all Heaven before me, and the great God Himself seated on His throne, with His company of Angels.”

Come make a joyful noise!
